I wanted to post a quick link to this favorable Review of Dark Sun. Since I was always a die-hard fan of Athas, I found this to be pretty spot-on and a great introduction and refresher for gamers just getting into Dark Sun.

4th Edition D&D Core Rulebook Wallpapers
It's possible that nothing else can better set the mood for role-playing games excitement as good fantasy art. In a related fashion, role-playing can inspire the dabblers and professionals in fantasy art. The two passions go hand-in-hand.
Wizards of the Coast has some brand new fantasy art available free on their site, specifically formatted for desktop wallpaper.
With the release of the 4th Edition of the Player's Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide, and Monster Manual, you also get glorious new art. We've chosen a few pieces to showcase here for you, and they've been formatted into handy-dandy desktop wallpaper sizes so that your computer doesn't feel left out of the 4th Edition fun. (Maybe you should send a link to the one depicting a noncombat encounter to remind your least cautious party member that blithely strolling through even an 'empty' dungeon isn't always a Good Idea.)
There are only nine so far, but it really gives a good idea of what artistic style can be found in the books. Check them out at 4th Edition D&D Core Rulebook Wallpapers.

Rum and Monkey: The Name Generator Generator
My Assassin Name is Azrael "Angel of Death" Collins
Find Out What's Your Noble Assassin Name? today! Created with Rum and Monkey's Name Generator Generator.
I see this generator being more useful for modern role-playing rather than fantasy role-playing. The characters don't have to be assassins, but the names are that cool.

3.5 to 4th Edition Conversion Guide from Wizards
Wizards of the Coast was not originally going to release a conversion guide to 4th edition (currently available in a BOX SET from Amazon.com for only $62.97) from 3rd edition. However, they seem to have bowed to pressure from the fans. Read a more detailed story and a link to the ready-to-use guide at dragonavenue.com - 3.5 to 4th Edition Conversion Guide from Wizards.

Dungeons and Dragons Fourth Edition on Amazon.com
I figured I'd check it out today, and it turns out that the new version is available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out the Dungeons and Dragons Fourth Edition right away. I'm still catching up with the 3rd edition books that I wanted, so I'm not sure how soon I'll be getting these. I am what you'd call a late adopter.

Ernest Gary Gygax - 1938-2008
Today, the founder of Dungeons & Dragons passed away at the age of sixty-nine years. Among my friends and coworkers who game, we paused and observed one full round of silence (15' radius) in respect and each took a try at a roll on a standard 3d6 (in order with no re-rolls). I feel pretty lucky as I got a 4 + 5 + 6 = 15. That's not bad at all.
